My Dad brought us in to see his office and downtown Singapore. The kids had fun drawing on his glass white board.
It was New Years Eve so all of the floating white things in the Bay were lights for the Celebration. We soaked it all in during the day because we knew we'd be too beat for an all night party. Yes, part of me wishes I would have sucked it up and headed down there, but my pillow was just so comfortable.

Flat Stanley and the Merlion. Lindsay and Cameron asked us to take this picture for his cousin. It's a class project and they are trying to see how many places their flat selfs can go.
Nothing better than a cone from MC'D's to end the day. Singapore is quite the interesting country. It is only a little over 40 years old. Lee Kuan Yew was the first Prime Minester and a bit of a communist. He had a hand in everything that went on in the city. His vision and ability to recognize the long term effects of small decisions have created quite a thriving metropolis. It is a first world country in the midst of third world nations. Yes, it is illegal to sell gum. My Dad's coworker loves gum and just a year ago brought a suitcase full home for his family. That bag got checked and they decided it was way too much for personal consumption. He was fined $5,000. They take much pride in the cleanliness of their City. It is also a very safe place, we would be walking around at night and I wouldn't feel nervous at all. I guess the fear factor of getting cained really does pay off.
Thanks Dad, for sharing a little bit of your daily life with us!
