Summer to Remember….

We had a VERY fun summer.  If you have looked at the previous blogs, then you know that it started with Nana and Papa coming for 4th of July.  Then you would know that we headed to Utah to have some fun, visit, and help Grandma and Grandpa fix up their new home.  Lastly, we headed to Tennessee to have a fun few days at a Lake Norris with The Monroe's, The Sander's and Nana and Papa.  The Monroes were so wonderful to put it all together so that we could all meet and rent a house on the lake, and ski with their boat.  It was so much fun to be both on the Lake skiing and hanging out with family and having lots of fun. There are going to be a ton of pictures, and there are SOOOO many more that could have/SHOULD have been put up on here, but there just isn't enough room.  But you will get pretty easily just how much fun we had.  Thanks so much to the Monroe's, the Sander's and Nana and Papa for such a fun end to summer vacation.  Now it is time to prepare for Back-To-School!!!
Uncle Chad's Boat.  Thanks for the wonderful Time!!!
Uncle Chad asked if Lese wanted to go with him, as he has done this with his smallest Child as well. So we felt ok for him to do it with Lese.  He said she was awesome!  She held on, stood up, and LOVED it!!1

Here he picked Lese up and let her body surf the wave while.

Sydney on the surfboard.  Kids started out on their bellies, then went to knees, and eventually stand up.

For surfing the boat kicks up a HUGE wake to one side and you "surf" on it - meaning you drop the rope and let the wave push you along; just like surfing for real.  Well, you're supposed too.  Apparently Chad is a little too heavy for this board and he never really got to surf, so he mostly just hung onto the rope and surfed with the boat pulling him

Michelle on the other hand was a natural.  She was able to surf the wave a number of times.

Here is what it should look like for real!!!  She's AWESOME!!
Lese rocking out to the tunes on the boat.  The boat had lots of speakers and since most of us had never done the surfing before, the common song was "I'm on top of the World" to try and inspire us to do good!

Michelle and Lese chill in on the front of the boat getting tan.
This is the "floating couch."  Its basically like an inner tube for the boat.  It's connected to the boat and the boat whips you around.  The Little kids go slow….
And the big kids - Nana is a big kid - go A LOT faster

Keely Rocked.  She was pretty scarred at first, but she got the hang of the surfing stuff.

And even by the end, tried to stand up.

Landon took some coaxing to go passed his knees.
He loved that, but...
Eventually he got up the nerve, and tried, and got up and...
Found out that he LOVED IT!!!
The coach produced some EPIC air!!!
Keely, Sydney and their cousin Colby…hanging out on the boat having a blast
I think the couch was a crowd favorite.
 Sydney, Landon and Nana...
 having an adrenaline rush!

Before Keely tried standing up, she got to see what it felt like with a ride with Dad.
Sydney went with Dad too…a little more adventurous natured, she...
Played with the wave while riding with dad.
Sydney is definitely our adventurous one (Lese will give her a run for her money we think when she gets older).  She saw her cousin Trevor rock on the wake board, and so she had to try it.  And wouldn't you know it, she got up on her feet first try.  She immediately fell, but she wanted to go again and again until...

She was riding like a pro!!!
And Chad, not to be outdone by his 8 year old daughter, did the wake board too, to show her that her old man can still shred some waves...

and catch some KNARLY air! (course truth be told, most jumps ended with some spectacular crashes!!  HA HA)

And then Michelle took to the wake board.  She's just a natural…so she got up making it all look too easy…no stress, just HUGE smiles and lots of fun!

It wasn't all fun on the boat.  There were other things to do at the Lake House.  They watched Frozen (singing the whole time to all the songs)...
And Painted Nails!
But the most that happened by FAR at the Lake House was...
The Smiles on EVERYONE's Faces!  Thanks for a great time Monroe's and Sander's and Nana and Papa!  We had a BLAST!  Lots of love!
