Michelle went on a Hike with a friend on the Appalachian Trail earlier this summer. She left the house at 5:30 and got back at 8:00. She said it was a good hike, a challenge but the view from the end was SPECTACULAR…or it would be. It was a foggy morning, so they couldn't see very far. So, we decided to go today with the kids because…well get this, it's July 30th, 2014, and it will be a high of 80 degrees today, was 63 degrees at 10:30 when we left this morning and we finished at 2:30 and it was 72. Can you ask for a better July - almost August Virginia Day. NO WAY JOSE!!! So we went. It was such a fun hike…4 miles with a 1,110 foot elevation change from the bottom to the top of the hike. It WAS beautiful at the top. You can see BV in the background and pretty much all the way to West Virginia and then some. It was a fun hike and look forward to more.
Here we go. Starting out on the trail. The kids walked the whole way, except Lese…she rode on Dads back most of the time.
The View from the Top. Just can't express how AWESOME it is to live in such a Beautiful State!
The kids saying "WE DID IT" at the end of the hike! The Mountain is Called Punch Bowl Mountain. The Trail is part of the Historic Appalachian Trail. Lots of Fun!
