Our town started a new tradition this year, an Academic Allstar's night. All kids from 3rd grade to 12th are honored if they received Straight A's or A's and B's. They wanted to make sure the kids felt accomplished for getting good grades and not just doing well in sports. It was a pretty nice little ceremony honoring them.
