This one had to be the most fun for the kids. It was what the kids had heard about most for the trip to Williamsburg and Jamestown, so they were looking forward to it all of Thanksgiving. That was because of the big ships we were going to get to go on and look around. So, Saturday, we left early from the hotel to head back home. The plan for the day was to see Jamestown and then leave for home. It turned out to be a great plan. The kids loved the settlement as well as the indian village, and yes of course, LOVED the boats. It really was a great place to visit with a lot of hands on activities for everyone.
The indian village...
had so many cool things to look at. Inside the houses, the kids LOVED all the animal skins and fur that were hanging everywhere
Landon...
and Sydney...
and Keely, seeing what it feels like being a Cow
Helping to hollow out a log canoe
This fellow asked the kids to help him move this anchor...they looked at him like he was cRaZy! So, they wanted to get a picture with him! HA
Dad and the kids on the back lookout of the Ship
This was the captains bed. The others for the crew were half that size! Kind of cramped!
The kids in the Cooks quarters...not much bigger than a quarter! That is the WHOLE room...right there. Hope the cook wasn't claustrophobic!!!
ENEMY!!! Off the Port Bow!!!
That boat is similar to the ones we were touring.
The girls in the crew bunks
Man I sure hope that the crew were not as tall as Chad...if so, they were going to have sore knees and backs trying to sleep in those small spaces...Landon fits Perfectly though.
The kids, ready for battle! Nice Hats!
