We would like to introduce to you all....
Annalese Diede Mahaffey
After a superbowl party in Lexington, we headed home. Michelle began to have contractions , but very irregular. We stayed up discussing options and what we should do. At about 11:30 I, Chad fell asleep. Michelle however did not. She woke me up at 2:30 saying that the contractions were pretty steady at 10 minutes apart, not to bad pain wise though. We finally called Jill Lund around 3 am and asked her to come over (we had previously discussed it with her, we are not THAT mean). After she got to our house and we gave her the last minute run down of everything we took off. A quick stop at the gas station...we really didn't think Monday was the day...we took off for the 40 minute drive to the hospital. We arrived at 4:20...and much to Michelle's dismay, she was only at a 2-3. She was check about an hour and a half later, after much walking and pacing around, and again was sad to find, still only at a solid 3. So, more walking until the midwife arrived and she checked again around 8 and Michelle was only at a 4. We thought we were in for a long day. The midwife said she should get a little bite to eat, and then jump in a hot jacuzzi tub bath. She ate a little, and then jumped in for a 20 minute soak. It was supposed to just help her relax. Well, she jumped out, and her contractions were SIGNIFICANTLY stronger and more consistent, so we called the nurse...9:25. The nurse came in to start the I.V. After she got all the parts and pieces for it assembled, Michelle was in a lot of pain, saying there was a lot of pressure. The nurse checked her again and said she was now at an 8, and that her water had just broken...9:35. 2 minutes later, Michelle said the baby was coming. The nurse called for another nurse and the doctor who just happened to be here in the birthing ward (not Michelle's doctor, she was using the midwives). He came in, and as they rolled Michelle to her back from her side, the baby crowned. They didn't even have time to make the changes to the bed. So, with no medication...no epidural, not even ibuprofen, she began to push...1 push, 2 pushes, and Annalese Diede Mahaffey was born at 9:41 am, 6th of February, 2012. She is 9 lbs, and 20 inches long. Much less hair than the other 3 kids upon arrival, but has them beat in the weight department. She looks a lot like we remember Keely looking, but honestly, they have all looked so much alike it hard to tell. Thanks for all the prayers. The spirit was so trong when she came into the room. Such a wonderful blessing to receive one literally in the presence of our Lord just moments before. We will be in touch with lots more news and pictures soon. Love you all!!!!!!
