National Zoo

We headed up to DC October 16th to go to our Stake Temple day. We have had a big push in our stake for everyone to be there. Luckily there were no home games and Chad could actually go! Since everyone was there it was easy to find a babysitter that would be there anyway. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces in the temple and truly feel unified.
After the temple we headed to the National Zoo. We had never been before and looked forward to this break for some family time. We didn't stress about seeing the whole thing and were able to just stroll around enjoying ourselves.
The funniest part was when the kids and I were sitting down at the crowded gorilla exhibit. We got a front row seat because someone had just left. A couple minutes after we sat down this large gorilla came and sat three feet away from us up against the glass and just stared at us. After a minute Keely got quite nervous and started crying. It was amazing to be so close, but I'm still thankful that the glass was there.
The kids by Landon's favorite animal, the Komodo Dragon.

Looks like fun. We love the National Zoo. The best part about it is that it is FREE!
