Day 1
We got to the airport with plenty of time to spare so we stopped by the United lounge to rest up and prep for the long flight ahead. We would be headed for a 14 hour flight to Tokyo then on to Singapore.
Cheers! The open snack bar was a huge hit with the kids. Don't worry it's just water. We didn't even break out the children's nighttime tylenol this time! Thanks to our little seasoned travelers.
This trip thanks to grandpa we were riding in style! We were in business class. The boys hung out together. With a personal video and gaming screen everyone was in heaven!
While I got to sit with these two cute gals. Orange juice all around please! Sydney was a big fan of the warmed up cashews. Keely had an aversion to the hot towels, I on the other hand loved them!
When we got off the plane in Tokyo we ran into what looked like the equivalent of rush hour on foot, to get through security. Luckily Chad noticed a separate line for business class, Hooray! On this trip that's us! I think it saved us about an hour of waiting.
Our next leg was on the infamous 747, not only were we in business class but we got to ride on the second story! So cool! For this leg we put Landon and Sydney by themselves next to each other. I think the flight attendant was a little worried but then quickly realized they would be no trouble at all. It was great up there. For the maybe 10 passengers there were two flight attendants. Chad sat next to Keely and I had the most pleasant flight next to a total stranger who didn't speak english! (It's nice to have some quiet time as a mom:)
Almost the whole flight Keely chose to watch Rio. I'm not sure how many times she got it in but she never tired of it. Landon and Sydney did branch out and watch some Tom and Jerry on dad's computer. The flight attendants even enjoyed watching from behind as there was a big open space there.
Keely slept almost the whole leg of this flight. Yes, she is totally flat and the best thing is Chad and I were even able to sleep totally flat! It was a lifesaver being 8 months pregnant, no swollen ankles for me!
Chad and I even spent a good half hour just standing in the open space chatting while the kids were sleeping or watching TV. We don't even get that much time to talk at home!
As we were leaving the flight attendant asked if we wanted to see the cockpit. The kids were very excited!
Just look at those faces! Who would have guessed that they have been traveling for about 25 hours?!
I love the look of the flight attendant, I think she was loving it just as much as they were.
OK, Keely may look like she's been traveling for 25 hours, but we made it in style!
