Playing Lacrosse is a must, like learning to surf when living on the West Coast. Anyway, we as a coaching staff here at SVU decided to do a small youth skills camp this past week (June 13-17). It was a ton of fun and a very successful camp. But the best part was that Landon decided he wanted to do it. I had come home one day and told Michelle that we were going to do it, and so I asked Landon if he would want to do it. He got super excited and was rearing and ready to go a few weeks before. Finally it arrived, and he ate it up. it was so much fun to coach him from the First day of camp through the last. He was by far the youngest and the smallest camper. At 7 yrs old, he was a good 4 years younger than the next youngest camper. He held his own though. the first day we started out by running a lap for warmups and Landon came in last. he was visibly upset about it the rest of the morning. He even told Michelle about it after he got home. So the next day and every day after he made it a point to win the warm up lap. That was his attitude with everything else....if the older guys can do it, I can to. It was so much fun to watch him, and see him get so much better.
Landon getting ready for an incoming ground ball.
Check out that form. I'd say his shot is looking pretty good on only the second day of camp - which is how many days he has played lacrosse so far
I am glad that he decided to come do it with us because it was fun to hang out with him. We had a ton of fun together.
