We started this last year, and decided it was great thing to turn into a tradition. Landon finished his last day of school, and we picked him up at school, and had the car packed up, and left straight for Camp Sherando for our annual camping trip. It really is a great tradition. We go with the Grawrocks, a family that has children the same ages as our kids, so it makes for a very fun trip. This year, we went to Camp Sherando. It was a beautiful place to camp. A wonderful Lake to play in, nice camping sights, and A wonderful hike - 2.5 miles - that even the kids loved.
the kids loved playing in the water and on the beach.
I think the outdoors has made the kids go a little crazy!!!
Even though we are not at home, story time before bed still is a must, and it's even better outdoors in front of a fire.
We hiked up to A place called lookout point that over looked the Lake and a beautiful view of part of the George Washington National Forest.
We had some pretty scary moments...
even the girls got a little scared....
But we all made it out alive and took a wonderful family picture to prove it!!!
Ha Ha Ha, we couldn't resist!!!
It really was a fun, and beautiful hike with tons of wonderful flowers and shrubbery the entire hike.
I guess riding and not walking the entire trip can tucker you out!!!
We even met some wildlife.
I love this tradition....can't wait for next year!

I guess this is a multi-generational tradition, since we first took Chad camping when he was only about 6 weeks old. He's loved it ever since! Glad you all had such a great time! My favorite was the cliff pictures! love you all- see you soon- nana
