Sore ankles and wet bums....

Ice skating...we went ice skating! We got a big group together and went to Lynchburg's Liberty University Ice Arena and went skating a few days after Christmas. It was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, it should have been more fun, but Nana and Papa were not feeling 100% so they decided to stay home and just rest and get better (I think it was actually because we went during Nana's favorite show...divine design...naw, just kidding). It was cold, and tiring carrying, or balancing the kids the whole time, but well worth the time spent with the kids. We all enjoyed it. Landon, by the end was zooming around on his own. Sydney graduated from needing 2 hands holder to just 1. Keely, well, she tried the skates and just glided around the rink with hands holding her, but eventually just wanted her shoes back on. By the end of the afternoon, there were plenty of sore ankles and wet bums, but everyone was glad we'd gone. The kids remembered last time we were there a couple years ago, that when we are done with the free skate time, the Zamboni comes out and cleans the ice, so they wanted to stay to watch that. It was fun having the Grawrocks kids and the Wilson Kids, and our kids standing on a bench outside the rink, watching while chanting, "ZAMBONI, ZAMBONI, ZAMBONI!!!" The driver got a kick out of the audience anyway! Fun afternoon that we'll have to do again soon...or so says the kids!
