If there is one thing that we have had great success in growing, it is apples. Ok, so we really don't do much of anything AT ALL, they just grow and we pick them. Well, this year, our 2 trees, one red and one green, have produced a ton. So, Michelle and the kids have had a fun time picking them and doing many different things with the apples.
One of those things is making dried apples. We have a TON of those now...it's great because it reminds me of when I was a young boy...our wooden dehydrator in the garage that we would go out to all the time and "sneek" apples or whatever was in it dehydrating. I am sure however mom and dad did know about it, but hey, as kids, we were soooooo sneeky, "nobody would EVER find out." RIGHT!!!!
Sydney, showing off the Fruit of her Labor...Literally!!!
CAUGHT!!! Landon trying to sneak a bite.
Sydney all smiles with the prospects of eating a newly baked pie...YUMMY!
Another thing is making Apple Pies.
Honestly, who wouldn't be sneaking a quick bite or smiling from Ear to Ear with a yummy looking pie like that in their hands!!!
At the end of the day, everyone is ALL smiles! It's fun to spend time with the kids and to work hard and accomplish a lot!! It is always fun to have the kids smiling at the end of the day!!!

ohmigosh... I sooooo remember that wooden dehydrator that Dad & Gene Holloway built! I'm glad you remember it too! Your dehydrator looks MUCH nicer! And how fun to have TONS of apples to dry, make into pies & applesauce, etc. You guys have turned into quite the great cooks!
love you, mom & dad mahaff
