Ok, we know what most of you are thinking...and yes, we DID have philly cheese steaks. So, that questions is out of the way! HA HA. So, four days after our triumphant return from the Outer Banks, we packed up and left again for Philapelphia. Chad had his National Convention for Athletic Trainers. Since it was closer to home than most, and Chad and Paul could drive there, they decided to take the families as well, and turn it into a quick, mini vacation. So, we used one of SVU's 15 passanger vans, loaded up the 4 adults and 5 kids, and luggage, and took off on another 6+ hour drive to Philly. I know, I know, you go to the barrell a few too many times, it's bound to be empty, but, again, the kids did very well on the drives. No big blow-ups or break downs (movies really do help...not gonna lie!!). So, we got there Wednesday afternoon, and Chad and Paul, registered and went to a seminar. Michelle, the kids, Nikki (Pauls wife) and their 2 little girls, all took off for a local park. While Chad and Paul listened to a captivating lecture on Chronic and Acute inflammation and the role of the Lymphatic System in rehabilitation of such, Michelle, Nikki, and the kids played at the playground. Later that night, we all went to eat. We had the previously mentioned Cheese Steaks (I am convinced that the REALLY good cheese steak is all in the bread...soft, not hard). The next day, Chad and Paul woke up and took off early to get us all tickets to go through Independence Hall, and then went to another seminar. While they were there, Michelle, Nikki and the kids went to visit Betsy Ross' House. Landon was especially excited about this one as he had learned all about her in Kindergarden this year. Well, he not only got to see her house, and tour it, but as they were all there as the gates opened, he was selected with 3 other children to help with the Flag Raising Ceremony that morning. He was on cloud nine. We then went through Independence Hall and saw the Liberty Bell. Later that night, We as a family went to the BYU alumni Party. It was so fun for Chad to see old friends whom he had graduated with and to catch up with them...find out how they were, how their families were and where they were working now. Michelle also got the chance to sit down and chat with her trainer from when she played volleyball there at the Y, Chris. They had many stories to tell each other and had a lot of fun talking. I am sure we could have stayed all night talking with everyone, but since we were already 2 hours past bedtime, and the children were laying on the floor at Chile's, we decided we should get back. It was a short trip to be sure, but was packed with a lot of fun, great sights, a fun City, and whole lot of friends and catching up!
