We had a great time showing them the house and the finished basement. Great Grandpa and Grandma have finished off their fair share of basements as well. So it was fun to show them our hard work. Grandpa Rob hadn't seen the basement either so it was fun for him to see all the wires we covered up that he helped with the internet and phone lines.
We also toured around Buena Vista and Southern Virginia University. On Saturday we went to visit Monticello on a beautiful day. To our surprise it was only about an hour and a half from here. We took a tour through the house and wandered the grounds. The kids enjoyed every minute of it because they always had someone to keep them company.
After resting on Sunday everyone but Chad headed for DC. Chad had to stay and work. We toured a lot of the monuments and a few of the museums. The kids enjoyed getting a coin that looked like each monument and talking about the Presidents.
The first night we stayed with Cameron and Lindsay and the second we stayed at the fanciest digs
in DC.
Thanks to Grandpa Rob's Sheraton points we stayed at the St. Regis in DC a block from the White House. Pretty fancy room for a four year old and a two year old. Their favorite part was the bath with the glass doors that mom could shut and say ,"splash away!" Oh the chocolate for the turn down service was also a big hit!
