Camping with Grawrock's is fun to do!

This year we planned to leave the day after school was out because there was supposed to be rain.  However when we went to pick the kids up from school there were blue sky's.  We decided to pack up real quick and get on the road.  As we drove to the campsite, it poured, we wondered if we would just end up turning around but after about 20 min, we enjoyed blue sky's again.  We headed to lake Sherando just like last year.  Lots of fun and great sites.
Here is our campsite.  Duste had the great idea of putting up smaller tents for the kids to play in so they would stop trying to jump on the air mattresses.  Brilliant!!  We had a poly pocket tent on our site and a rescue hero/ lego tent at the Grawrock's.  I believe this one change made for some wonderfully behaved children on this campout!

S'mores!  The first couple of years the Mahaffey children didn't want anything to do with s'mores, but they are finally coming around!

I think Keely has found a winner!
open REALLY wide Sydney!  Go big or go home...it's a motto!
Landon however still continues to be a purest.
Cael on the other hand is a huge S'mores fan!

We played at the park.  Even Matt got a push from Duste:)

Lese did great on her first campout!!  She took naps in the tent since it wasn't too hot and slept with Mom in the sleeping bag when it got too cold at night.  She was a trooper though!

There are actually 2 lakes here.  The big one is for swimming.  The smaller second one, just for fishing.  We had never been to that one.  So we decided to take a look.  The lake is in a little depression.  So you have to hike up the hill and then back down the other side to get to it.  There ended up being a little walking path around the lake, so we decided to go for a little hike.

Halfway through the hike, we came upon a beach made entirely of rocks.  Well, what are you going to do if you find this?  Skip rocks...what else?  We must have stayed and skipped rocks for at least 20 minutes.  It was so much fun, everyone left with tired arms!

boys will be boys...
and girls will be girls.

Chad's thoughts here "I think I am going to have to have a sit down interview with that boy!!"
Everyone feeling victorious after a great hike and bike ride
Last year, we took our family picture on a rock up high that made it look like we were falling off a cliff.  This year, we went with the more traditional...big rock, sit on it, and smile!
There is also we found this year, an outdoor stage they must use for plays and for nighttime outdoor movies.  Well, we found it, and Sydney decided it was a perfect stage for a dance show.
"Has anyone seen my legs?  I think I misplaced them"
To the lake...first things first...Sand Castles!
I seem to have misplaced my whole body now!  Oh dear!
